Yusuf Mehdi, the Corporate Vice President, Modern Life, Search & Devices Group, at Microsoft, quoted a tweet by the official Windows Twitter account that said there will be a #MicrosoftEvent on June 24.

While the original tweet from Windows didn’t say what the launch was for, a short teaser video included hints at it being related to its operating system. However, it was Mr. Mehdi who revealed that the said event was for a new version of Windows.

It’s been reported that Microsoft had also sent out invites for the said event and that CEO Satya Nadella, as well as Chief Product Officer Panos Panay, will be presenting at the said event.

There were speculations that Microsoft’s new version will launch as “Windows 11” citing the teaser in the tweet above and the fact that the said event was scheduled for 11 AM ET.

The new version was expected to come with visual changes regardless of what it will be called.
