Lorenzana: “I couldn’t help but notice how the Japanese express their respect and courteousness”
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana was pleased with Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi at their online meeting recently.
Lorenzana couldn’t help but notice how the defense minister expresses his respect and reverence even online.
In the online video conference, Kishi made effort to decorate his table with symbolic products from the Philippines.
The defense minister showcased Filipino products in the videoconference such as mangoes and bananas.
Kishi’s desk also featured a display version of a jeepney, a well-known Philippine public transportation.
“During my meeting with Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi yesterday, I couldn’t help but notice how the Japanese express their respect and courteousness, even online,” Lorenzana said in a Facebook post.
“As you can see, they took the time and effort to decorate the minister’s desk with symbolic Filipino items. Nakakatuwang tingnan,” he added.
“Thank you Defense Minister Kishi for your time and I look forward to the upcoming activities and projects between our two countries,” he concluded.
