Willie Revillame is donating additional money for jeepney drivers
Wowowin host Willie Revillame to donate additional Php1 million as ‘ayuda’ to jeepney drivers.
To recall, the game show host already gave Php 5 million to affected drivers of jeepney due to the community quarantine amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was delivered to the beneficiaries through the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) office. Willie went to the agency last August 20 to personally give the money to affected jeepney drivers.
However, based on the article from Hataw, that said amount of money that Willie Revillame first donated was not enough to cover all the beneficiaries.
Because of this, the TV host promised to donate additional Php1 million. He also stressed that the help that he is extending to lees fortunate Pinoys is not “pagyayabang”.
It will be recalled that a writer criticized him when he announced during the press briefing of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque that he will be donating Php 5 million to drivers.
“Hindi ako tumutulong para magpasikat. Tumutulong ako dahil kailangan natin silang tulungan sa hirap ng buhay, lalong-lalo na ho ‘yung mga taong kapuspalad. ‘Yun ang pinakamaganda,” he said.
Willie also said that he can have a sound sleep thinking that he helped other people. “Thank you Lord, ginagamit niyo itong programang ito para sa ating mga kababayan,” he added.
The Wowowin host also gave recognition to all the people who are extending help to others. “Thank you Lord, ginagamit niyo itong programang ito para sa ating mga kababayan,” he said.
Based on the article, this is not just the help that Willie Revillame is going to extend. He is set to help also the families of overseas Filipino workers (OFW) who can’t send money this coming December due to the pandemic.
