DWIZ condemned by KBP over Gadon’s statement against PNoy
The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) condemned DWIZ-AM radio station for the disrespect of one of their hosts to the late President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
According to KBP, the standard of responsible broadcasting was violated after Atty. Larry Gadon spoke ill to PNoy in the “Karambola” program of DWIZ.
“We are sad that something like this happened in radio broadcasting, in which we in the KBP are trying to uphold the highest standards of professionalism when serving the need of the community to be informed,” said KBP.
KBP cannot immediately punish DWIZ because the radio station allegedly left as a member of their organization for a long time.
However, it is still possible for the station to be held accountable for getting an unkind comment from Gadon on their program.
“While we are not saying that they are perfect, and some of us do commit lapses, awareness by broadcasters of these standards and a commitment to take them seriously will help make sure that the likes of what happened with DWIZ will be avoided,” it said.
