Pokwang to Miss Myanmar: “Bukas ang aking tahanan para sa iyo.”
POKWANG – The comedienne is offering her shelter as a home for Miss Myanmar Thuzar Wint Lwin who is said to be arrested once she returns to her country.
During the Miss Universe 2020 national costume competition, Lwin made headlines as she held up a scroll reading “Pray For Myanmar”.
As a result, she was added to the list of celebrities critical of the Myanmar government- which is now under the control of the military.
She has been alleged of speaking ill against her country on the said pageant.
Many were worried after learning that she might be facing an arrest once she returned to her country, Myanmar.
One of which is comedienne Marietta Subong also known as Pokwang.
In her post, she said: “Bukas ang aking tahanan para sa iyo Miss Myanmar. Halika muna sa aking bahay, papakainin kita ng roasted chicken at laing ni Mamang.”
Her post on social media earned reactions from the netizens with some praising the comedienne while others are also expressing their willingness to help the National Costume winner.
Meanwhile, it was just recently when the 69th queen of Miss Universe has been crowned.
By the end of the competition, Andrea Meza from Mexico snatched the title of Miss Universe 2020.
