Misamis Occidental 2nd District Representative and House Deputy Speaker Henry Oaminal tested positive for COVID-19.

The congressman made the announcement via the social networking platform, Facebook.

“Good afternoon, everyone. I regret to inform you that I have tested positive for COVID-19. I was swabbed after experiencing body malaise and fever,” he posted.

According to the House Deputy Speaker, he tested positive on May 14. He also already reported his condition to the Ozamiz City Health Office.

The House Deputy Speaker also urged those who have close contact with him with 15 days to undergo quarantine.

Meanwhile, with the rapid increase of coronavirus disease 2019 cases, leaders of different nations are doing their all in order to combat the spread of the deadly virus which started in Wuhan, China in 2019.

COVID-19 is characterized by flu-like symptoms such as fever, difficulty in breathing, cough, and other respiratory problems but a patient may also be positive for the disease even without showing any signs.

Among the safety protocols that everyone must observe are the following; social/physical distancing, wearing masks especially in public places, and using disinfectant from time to time if possible.
