Honor will focus on its smartphones instead of cars, according to Honor CEO Zhao Ming
Honor CEO Zhao Ming said that Honor will focus on its smartphones instead of cars as he delivered a keynote speech to his alma mater, Shanghai Jiaotong University.
The senior official stated in his speech that Honor will be focusing on the smartphone field instead of joining the recent trend of working on cars.
Based on a report on ITHome, Zhao Ming was aiming at becoming the number one smartphone brand in China and all across the world.
Furthermore, Zhao Ming said that Honor will not be joining the car-making trend that different Chinese brands — including Huawei, Xiaomi, and Oppo, among others — were getting involved in.
To recall, Honor had become independent from its former parent company Huawei back in 2020.

Since then, the executive of the Chinese tech giant said that the company had adhered to the “1+8+N” strategy for its smart products that will launch in the future.
This include smartphones being at the core, while Honor will also build integrated experiences through laptops, routers, tablets, wearables, smart screens, hearables, and other electronic products.
Moreover, Zhao Ming said that young people used their smartphones for over 6 hours per day, which was indicative of how crucial smartphones still were to the brand.
