Richard Poon on community pantry
RICHARD POON – The singer is currently making rounds online following his post about the origin of the community pantries- organized to help those who are in need amid the pandemic.
On Facebook, Richard reposted posts from a certain MJ Quiambao Reyes regarding “bayanihan” drives in the early part of 2020.
“Again, let me say the bayanihan spirit is alive and well sa Filipino communities even a year ago. But there can be SOME DIFFERENCES,” he said.”
“This was posted 13 MONTHS AGO. Look, as EARLY as March 2020 LAST YEAR, buhay na buhay na ang bayanihan at marami na tayong mabubuting kababayan na namamahagi ng libreng gulay, taho, byahe, at iba pa,” he added.
Richard Poon then cited 6 differences that the bayanihan before compared to the community pantries now.
- Walang mainstream MEDIA COVERAGE.
- Wala silang IBANG AGENDA maliban sa pagtulong lamang sa kapwa.
- Hindi sila NAMUMUDMOD ng mga PAMPLETA at naghihikayat ng pag alsa.
- Walang recruitment at walang PINAPIPIRMANG PETISYON.habang nakapila.
- Walang fundraising in $$$ (dollars) or in million pesossess.
- Hindi sila affiliated sa mga subersibong grupo.
According to the crooner, bayanihan has always been present but it is only now that it is being talked about.
However, there are some who question his motive as to why he still needs to reveal this even though the project has only one goal, to help those in need.
