Authorities are looking at two possible angles in the killing of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) President of Lumban in Laguna.
In a statement, Police Capt. Jose Marie Peña, chief of police of Lumban Municipal Police Station said, “May balita po kasing tatakbong konsehal ng bayan, tapos tinitingnan ko rin po kung ito ba’y may kagalit. Dahil ito naman po ay Lumban, kasi nga po ang Lumban ay kilala sa bayan na sabi nila na ano po daw sa droga mga involvement sa droga, kaya hindi rin po nawala sa akin tingnan din po ‘yung bersyon na ganun.”
Peña added as per witnesses’ testimony that two perpetrators entered the house of the victim identified as Renzo Matienzo in Barangay Maytalang 1, while two others just waited outside.
After killing the SK president, the suspects fled.
Authorities are still analyzing CCTV footage in the area to possibly find out the identity of the suspects as well as know where they passed.
So far, the information available regarding the case Matienzo is still limited.
“Ngayon po kinukuha namin lahat po ng pwede naming gamitin para po sa aming imbestigasyon para malaman po natin kung sino po talaga ang gumawa at mapanagot po natin kung sino po iyun,” added Peña.
Meanwhile, Lumban Police is asking for the help of the public to report to their station if ever there is information that can help in the case of the SK president.
