Smart Communications Partners With China Mobile For 5G Roaming Services

Smart Communications partnered with China Mobile for 5G roaming services.

Smart Communications had partnered with Chinese state-owned China Mobile in order to roll out 5G roaming services.

According to Smart, the partnership further expanded its 5G roaming coverage in key markets worldwide.

Under the said agreement, roaming subscribers of China Mobile and Smart would be able to experience 5G roaming speeds when they visit the Philippines and China.

Alice Ramos, the vice president for International Roaming and Consumer Business at Smart, said that they wanted to enable their customers to follow their passion and achieve their purpose through their services.

Ramos also said that Smart prepaid and postpaid subscribers would be able to enjoy 5G roaming speeds for seamless data connectivity for work-productivity apps.

Currently, China Mobile was the world’s largest mobile operator in terms of subscribers as China Mobile served almost one billion customers. Smart was the exclusive Philippine partner of China Mobile for its “Hand-in-Hand Program”.

The launch of Smart’s 5G roaming service in China follows the groundbreaking 5G partnerships established by Smart with various operators worldwide. This series of superior 5G roaming partnerships with the world’s top operators is testament to Smart’s commitment to provide world-class roaming services to its travelers as travel restrictions are anticipated to relax with mass vaccinations,” Smart said.

Earlier, Smart announced 5G roaming coverage in the Middle East with Zain in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia; and in the United Arab Emirates with Du Telecom and Etisalat.

Also, Smart teamed up with South Korea’s KT Corp and Taiwan’s FarEasTone.
