Reminds President Duterte to Focus on COVID-19 Pandemic
Senator Francis Pangilinan reminded President Duterte to focus on pandemic; “COVID-19 is the problem, not VP Robredo”.
On Tuesday (March 2, 2021), Pangilinan, the president of the minority Liberal Party advised President Duterte to focus on the coronavirus pandemic instead of ranting against Vice President Leni Robredo.
The lawmaker defended the vice president who is also a member of the Liberal Party against the tirades of the president. Robredo has not been included on Duterte’s Cabinet members and not included in meetings against COVID-19 pandemic.
“COVID-19 is the problem, not VP Robredo, from the start, she has been tirelessly helping and finding a solution to this coronavirus problem,” Pangilinan said.
President Duterte usually lashes out his critics during the updates regarding the response of the administration against the health crisis. Aside from Leni Robredo, Mr. Duterte is also making comments about former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, Sen. Risa Hontiveros and Sen. Panfilo Lacson.
Pangilinan also cited that the Philippines has been usually left behind in Asia when it comes to addressing COVID-19. “Eye on the ball, so to speak. The ‘V’ we should focus on is ‘virus’ and not the VP,’ Pangilinan added.
