Sinas tests positive for coronavirus
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Debold M. Sinas tested positive for COVID-19.
This is based on his latest swab test result released on Thursday, March 11.
After obtaining the result of his Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test, he was immediately advised by doctors at the PNP Health Service to undergo a health assessment.
Sinas is expected to remain at the isolation facility at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame in Quezon City.
PNP Spokesman Brigadier General Ildebrandi Usana confirmed the positivity of Sinas from COVID-19.
Usana said the PNP Chief is doing well so far.
According to the reports, he underwent RT-PCR on March 6 and March 9, and both results were negative.
PNP doctors said Sinas may have been infected with the virus in the past 24 to 48 hours before he underwent another RT-PCR on Thursday morning.
On Wednesday, March 10, Sinas led the oath-taking and donning of ranks ceremonies for newly promoted police officers held at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Crame.
