Mark Anthony Fernandez fell under the “A3” category, according to Parañaque CHO.
The City Health Office (CHO) of Parañaque City said that actor Mark Anthony Fernandez fell under the “A3” category on the vaccine priority list.
In a report on Manila Bulletin, Mark came under fire as news that he got an AstraZeneca jab in Parañaque City broke out on Wednesday amidst allegations that several officials were jumping the line in order to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Dr. Olga Virtusio, the head of the City Health Office (CHO) of Parañaque City, said that the actor — like any other Parañaque resident — passed through the regular procedure such as applying and registering to be inoculated.
According to Virtusio, Fernandez passed the screening because he had a comorbidity as he’s a “hypertensive individual”. Virtusio added that the actor fell under “A3” category on the vaccine priority list which were persons with comorbidities.

In a separate interview on ANC, Mayor Edwin Olivarez on Wednesday said that they’re almost done vaccinating health workers in the city which was at 95% and so they had moved to those next in the vaccine priority list.
Olivares explained that there’s a new guideline for AstraZeneca which allowed them to make use of the doses supposedly reserved for the second dose on people who were next on the priority list. He added that due to the new development, they didn’t violate any instructions from the Department of Health (DOH).
