Pres. Duterte Approves Ayuda in NCR Plus Areas
AYUDA IN NCR PLUS – Here is the proposed amount of aid for those who are affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and the number of recipients in each area.
The COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over. There are still new cases of the disease recorded daily and, unfortunately, the daily count is higher now compared to last year’s.
Everyone is urged to practice the health protocols to curb the spread of the disease. These measures include the wearing of a face mask and the practice of social distancing when going outdoors.
Most establishments like shopping malls, grocery stores, and pharmacies also require a face shield apart from the mask. Community quarantine measures are still up in the country now.
Recently, the national government placed the whole National Capital Region (NCR) and four provinces under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). The said provinces are Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna.
The ECQ in the NCR Plus started yesterday, March 29, until April 4. A lot of people are undeniably worried on how to cope with their needs amid the restrictions.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the proposed ayuda in NCR Plus areas. It targets people who are greatly affected by the ECQ.
According to the report, Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado said that the ayuda in NCR Plus will be “in kind” – unlike in the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) that cash was given.
The proposed assistance is worth Php 1,000.00 “in kind”. Around 22.9 million people in NCR, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite will receive ayuda. The following is the breakdown of the recipients:
- NCR – 11.2 million people
- Bulacan – 3 million people
- Cavite – 3.4 million people
- Laguna – 2.7 million people
- Rizal – 2.6 million people
