Aiko Melendez and Maricar de Mesa had the chance to reconnect with each other
Kapuso stars Aiko Melendez and Maricar de Mesa’s broken friendship was ended and they were able to rekindle the bond that they had in the past before their “hidwaan”.
Aiko and Maricar starred in an episode of Kapuso show Tadhana. Through the drama anthology of Marian Rivera, the friends who had a past conflict were able to reconnect.
In an interview on Chika Minute of 24 Oras, Maricar was asked if how they felt being together on the set. “Natural lang. Parang dati pa rin siya,” she said.
Maricar added that Aiko approached her immediately. “Sabi niya, ‘Mare.’ Gumanon siya agad. Kasi kinalabit ko siya nakatalikod. Parang ano lang ang gaang, parang nagkaintindihan kami na tapos na. That’s it. Parang nag-heal lahat,” she shared.
Aiko Melendez said that she and Maricar de Mesa did not talk about the details of their past conflict. “Siguro ganun talaga kapag real friends, wala nang usapan kung ano yung pinagkasamaan niyo ng loob. Basta ang importante maayos kayo,” she said adding that it was the perfect timing.
Both actresses also shared this momentous event in their friendship on their social media accounts.
Maricar said that Tadhana brought back her friendship with Aiko after years of silence.
This post of Maricar received this comment from Aiko: “Miss you mare, God’s will and strong friendships will never ever be broken. I’m happy that we are ok and please know this time no more goodbye ah. We will be here for each other no matter what. Love you.”
Aiko also shared a behind-the-scenes photo with Maricar and both of them were wearing gowns. She said that it was fate that through the Kapuso show, she had the chance to work with Maricar who is a “longtime family friend”.
The Prima Donna actress thanked GMA and this particular program for giving her this opportunity.
