Kapamilya heartthrob James Reid is currently making rounds online following his rendition of his newest single, “Soda” on Wish Bus.
His performance was released on Valentine’s Day, February 14 via the official YouTube channel of Wish 107.5.
As of posting, it has already reached over 134,000 views on the video-sharing platform with various reactions.
A netizen commented: “Anybody who still doubts James Reid’s ability to sing should watch this video.”
Another fan noted: “Nailed it. Without a doubt, James Reid’s vocals are pure and reign superior. What a performance. Props to the band.”
Last month, James Reid shared in a virtual conference that he wrote the song during lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is a new sound for me. I just really wanted to start the year with something fresh. I’ve been working on it since 2020. It actually was a very heavy year, and I wrote the song during quarantine,” he said.
“Basically, it became like a time that was very introspective. I guess this song is a reflection of that insight of learning to turn these negative things into positive experiences. Learning to ride the highs and lows,” he added.
James Reid noted that he asked the help of his ex-girlfriend Nadine Lustre, producer Isagani Palabyab and artist Haissam “Massiah” Morton to create the single.
