The IATF approved the uniform travel protocols for all LGUs.
Malacañang on Saturday announced that the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) had approved the uniform travel protocols for local government units (LGUs).
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a briefing that under the said protocols, travelers need not undergo COVID-19 swab testing unless required by the local government unit prior to travel.
Such COVID-19 swab testing, according to Roque, will be reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test only.
Meanwhile, travelers would no longer be subjected to quarantine unless they exhibited coronavirus symptoms at the destination upon arrival.
“Authorities shall continue to strictly implement the minimum public health standards, such as physical distancing, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and wearing of face masks and face shields across all settings. Clinical and exposure assessment shall be strictly implemented in all ports of entry and exit while health assessment of passengers, supervised by medical doctors, shall be mandatory upon entry in the port/terminal and exit at point of destination,” Roque said.

Roque also said that the travel authority, which was previously issued by the Joint Task Force COVID Shield, as well as health certificates would no longer be required.
However, those from national government agencies and their attached agencies who are authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) need to present their travel order, travel itinerary, and ID. In addition, they should be able to pass symptom-screening upon entry and exit.
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, according to Roque, approved the uniform travel protocols on Friday.
In addition, the protocols were crafted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in coordination with the League of Provinces of the Philippines, the League of Cities of the Philippines, the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, and the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines.
