Qualcomm officially announced that President Cristiano Amon would be the company’s next CEO
Qualcomm had recently announced that the current CEO would be retiring and he would be succeeded by President Cristiano Amon.
This, as Mr. Steve Mollenkopf had served as CEO since 2014 and had been with the company for 26 years.
Cristiano Amon was a popular name in the mobile industry as he’s currently the President and the face of Qualcomm.
However, he wasn’t the highest-ranking executive at the company and that position was held by Steve Mollenkopf who was the current CEO.

Gizmochina reported that his appointment would take effect on June 30, 2021, while the former CEO would remain as a strategic advisor at Qualcomm.
Mr. Mollenkopf’s achievements include pushing the company to the top of the mobile chipset supply chain and as a global leader in the semiconductor industry.
During his reign as the chief executive officer of Qualcomm, he also helped propel the adoption of smartphones as the company’s chipsets power millions of smartphones from several manufacturers.
He also helped with the expansion of the company’s portfolio to include RF Front End, IoT, and Automotive chips.
