vivo formally announced partnership with ZEISS
vivo had formally announced its partnership with German optoelectronics brand ZEISS in order to co-engineer mobile imaging technologies.
vivo and ZEISS would establish the vivo ZEISS Imaging Lab — a joint research and development program that would develop innovative solutions for mobile imaging in the future.
This was on top of the smartphone maker’s several imaging research and development centers globally with over 700 staff.
In its official announcement on Facebook, the vivo | ZEISS Co-engineered Imaging System were optical components for vivthe smartphone maker’s high-end products.
vivo and ZEISS also announced that the partnership would begin the vivo ZEISS Master Photography campaign which would promote newly-developed imaging systems in order to inspire users to enjoy their creativity with the smartphone maker’s flagship smartphones.

“Through the partnership, ZEISS imaging technology will be enjoyed by much more consumers. Based on the synergy and complementarity of optical expertise and new digital technologies, vivo and ZEISS intend to make the strategic collaboration a starting point to create new opportunities for mobile imaging, enable more creativity, so as to support the long-term and healthy development of the entire industry,” vivo Senior Vice President and CMO Spark Ni said.
Joerg Schmitz, Head of ZEISS Consumer Products, said that the partnership between the two was all about mobile imaging, adding that the breadth of ZEISS’ decades-long expertise with optical technologies and imaging would enable the smartphone maker to enhance the imaging performance of its flagship smartphones.

Moreover, vivo and ZEISS aimed to provide consumers worldwide with an easier-to-use, more appealing, and more professional mobile photography experience.
