PayMaya Offers Travel Section For Cashless Transaction With Beep Cards, Bus Tickets
PAYMAYA TRAVEL SECTION – Travelers can now opt to use PayMaya’s platform for cashless transactions with bus tickets and Beep Cards as it offers a “travel section”.
For the longest time, the Philippines has aimed to transition into a cashless system, especially amid the pandemic. Previously, the government collaborated with “Beep” to offer this solution to the public.
However, several controversies came to light such as the base price of the card and the transaction fees. However, all of these issues have been resolved or closed to resolved as the months went by.
Meanwhile, PayMaya decided to help with contactless payments with transportation modes. This meant shorter queues in public transportation, thus avoiding long lines which could potentially help curb the spread of COVID-19.
According to an article from ABS-CBN, PayMaya’s QR tickets are valid for 24 hours upon purchase. Furthermore, it can only be used at Ayala and Market! Market! bus stations and at the Topline Express Ferry routes in Cebu.
Additionally, travelers can also use their PayMaya to book flights with Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific with the Bills section of their app.
