DOH COVID-19 update as of December 5, 2020

The Department of Health (DOH) gave an update about its latest COVID-19 tally as of 4:00 p.m. of December 5, 2020.

In a report on GMA News Online, the Department of Health recorded 1,733 newly-reported COVID-19 cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 438,069.

Also, the Department of Health reported 29,961 total active cases.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of December 5 only: Davao City with 162 new cases, Quezon City with 92 new cases, Benguet with 80 new cases, Rizal with 70 new cases, and Laguna with 66 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 133 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 399,582. Also, the Department of Health recorded 17 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 8,526.

While the coronavirus disease was still present in the Philippines and the number of COVID-19 cases kept on increasing, the Department of Health constantly reminded the public to continually follow the minimum public health standards.

As of this writing, the Department of Health didn’t posted the COVID-19 Case Bulletin No. 266 on its Facebook page and on its site.
