DOCTOR EXPLAINS WHY MAKING YOUR BED IS BAD – For as long as we can remember, our parents would always tell us to make our beds the moment we wake up.

Along with this, this act, when done consistently, can become a great habit of starting your day. Additionally, you’d also prevent yourself from going back to sleep once you see the bed all nice and tidy.

However, according to doctor Karan Raj, making your bed the first thing in the morning might result in some issues. In his latest viral TikTok video, the doctor said:

Making your bed in the morning traps dust mites that have accumulated over night. These microscopic predators, which are less than a millimetre long, feed on the scales of human skin and thrive in moist environments

He explained that when we fall asleep at night, the human body becomes warm and sweaty. Because of this, humans become easy targets for these mites. Moreover, the mites would then leave excretions that could cause asthma or allergy-like symptoms.

As such, Doctor Raj recommends that we leave our bed messy for a while to expose the mites to air and sunlight. This would cause the mites to get dehydrated which eventually leads to their deaths.
