Pop star Darren Espanto had recently shared that he was aiming to have a Christmas hit track like music icon Jose Mari Chan.
Music icon Jose Mari Chan, known for his enduring and evergreen hit “Christmas in Our Hearts”, still remained the face of the holiday season on the local scene.
With this, Darren told Inquirer in an interview that having a song like “Christmas in Our Hearts” was one of his goals as an artist.

According to Darren, Christmas was one of his favorite seasons and so it would be really cool to have one of his songs played in different homes.
Darren also said that he’s hoping that “Believe in Christmas” — his latest single which was already available in music streaming platforms — could pique the interest of the new generation of listeners.
However, he clarified that he had no intention of competing with other artists like Jose Mari Chan.
“No one can compare to Jose Mari Chan. I’m not really trying to compete with anyone. I just want to spread positivity … I think people could use a song [like ‘Believe in Christmas’] now,” Darren said.
Meanwhile, Darren shared that he was hoping that his latest single could spark glimmers of “love, hope, and joy” in this time of uncertainty.
