Jose “Nonong” Ricafrente Jr., who served as mayor of Rosario in Cavite, passed away on Friday, December 11.
Earlier, officials of the province paid tribute to the renowned long-time mayor as well as expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
Jolo Revilla, the vice governor of Cavite extended his condolences to the mayor’s family via a post on the social networking site, Facebook.
On the other hand, his father Senator Bong Revilla Jr. also expressed his sympathy to the family of Mayor Ricafrente who also served as the provincial administrator during his time as governor of Cavite.
Voltaire Ricafrente III, the son of Mayor Nonong who’s also the vice mayor of their town will assume the post left by his father while Antonio Mao, the number one councilor will take over his position.
The social media was also flooded with the condolences of Rosario residents.
He has been lauded for his service especially in times of need.
Mayor Jose “Nonong” Ricafrente Jr. served as the mayor of Rosario, Cavite from 1992 to 1998, and 2007 to 2016.
From 2016 to 2019, he served as the vice mayor of the said town, and in 2019, he won anew the mayoralty post.
