DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 391,809

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 391,809, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 391,809 with over 2,000 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, November 6, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #237 dated November 6, 2020, the Department of Health recorded 2,092 newly-reported COVID-19 cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 391,809.

Also, the Department of Health reported 34,374 total active cases wherein 83.6% were mild cases, 9.8% were asymptomatic cases, 4.2% were critical cases, and 2.4% were severe cases.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of November 6 only: Davao City with 129 new cases, Quezon City with 100 new cases, Quezon with 83 new cases, Northern Samar with 82 new cases, and Cavite with 80 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 462 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 349,974. Also, the Department of Health recorded 52 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 7,461.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health lauded President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to ensure affordable and equitable access to COVID-19 tests and test kits.

Last November 4, 2020, President Duterte signed Executive Order No. 118, series of 2020, directing DOH — in coordination with DTI — to ensure affordability and accessibility of COVID-19 tests and test kits.
