DOH COVID-19 update as of November 19, 2020

The Department of Health (DOH) gave an update about its latest COVID-19 tally as of 4:00 p.m. of November 19, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #250 dated November 19, 2020, the Department of Health recorded 1,337 newly-reported COVID-19 cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 413,430.

Also, the Department of Health reported 30,493 total active cases wherein 84.5% were mild cases, 8.0% were asymptomatic cases, 4.7% were critical cases, 2.5% were severe cases, and 0.21% were moderate cases.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of November 19 only: Davao City with 110 new cases, Laguna with 74 new cases, Quezon City with 66 new cases, Batangas with 54 new cases, and City of Manila with 53 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 286 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 374,939. Also, the Department of Health recorded 41 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 7,998.

While the coronavirus disease was still present in the Philippines and the number of COVID-19 cases kept on increasing, a natural disaster recently hit several parts of the country.

With this, the Department of Health said that their emergency responses focused on physical, mental, and social health in order to ensure the recovery of all typhoon victims from disaster in accordance with the Operational Guidelines in the Delivery of Essential Health Services During Emergencies and Disasters.
