DOH COVID-19 update as of November 13, 2020

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday gave an update about its latest COVID-19 tally as of 4:00 p.m. of November 13, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #244 dated November 13, 2020, the Department of Health recorded 1,902 newly-reported COVID-19 cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 404,713.

Also, the Department of Health reported 34,058 total active cases wherein 83.9% were mild cases, 9.4% were asymptomatic cases, 4.3% were critical cases, 2.3% were severe cases, and 0.12% were moderate cases.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of November 13 only: Cavite with 122 new cases, Davao City with 113 new cases, Quezon City with 84 new cases, Bulacan with 81 new cases, and City of Manila with 78 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 506 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 362,903. Also, the Department of Health recorded 31 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 7,752.

Meanwhile, Pfizer and BioNTech announced that a jointly-developed COVID-19 vaccine was “90 percent” effective in its ongoing Phase 3 trials.

Aside from this, Russia’s health ministry reported that Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine was “more than 90 percent” effective in its ongoing Phase 3 trials.
