Disney revealed the reason behind its Filipino-themed Christmas ad.
Disney officially revealed the reason behind its first-ever Filipino-themed “From Our Family To Yours” ad that went viral on social media.
This, after Disney EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) had introduced the Filipino family in its latest Christmas ad.
Disney, through its Philippine office, had confirmed in a statement to The STAR’s Latestchika.com that the Christmas ad was centered on a family with a Filipino heritage.
In a statement, Disney said that the company had been telling “authentic” and “culturally diverse” stories for generations, adding that Lola and her granddaughter represented “families from all over the world” while the ad itself centered on a “family with Filipino heritage”.

Disney also that they believed that their close bond and connection was relatable to all families.
In addition, Disney said that the advert was produced and developed by Disney EMEA’s in-house creative team led by Angela Affinita — the director of brand marketing and creative — in partnership with Flux Animation Studios.
“The story was inspired by (Affinita’s) personal experience and her relationship with her grandmother. All content has been created locally in EMEA, but with a global audience in mind,” Disney said.
Moreover, Disney said that the company also worked with cultural consultants in the Philippines in order to ensure that the references made to locations were as realistic and accurate as possible.
Disney EMEA’s Christmas campaign was in collaboration with Make-A-Wish — a children’s charity organization — as they celebrated 40 years of their partnership.
The said ad was currently airing across television and Digital plus Disney’s own channels in 26 countries in Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as New Zealand, Australia, North America, and parts of Asia.
