South Korean Dad Loses Hard-Earned $115,000 Cash After His Child Spent It To Buy Gifts for Live Streamers
A South Korean Dad lost around $115,000 after her young daughter spent it to buy gifts for livestreaming stars.
A 48-year-old father in Seoul, South Korea and his wife have lost 130 million won or US$115,000. The money had vanished from the bank account last August 2020, which was supposed to be used to buy a new house.
Eventually, the couple found out that their 11-year-old daughter has spent their hard-earned cash to buy gifts for livestreaming stars. The girl is using an app called Hakuna Live allowing fans to buy gifts called “diamonds”.
The young kid gives diamonds worth 130 million won to 35 streamers using her mother’s mobile phone between August 3 and 12. The girl’s mother suffered from brain damage and visually impaired.
“My wife always leaves her phone unlocked since she is visually impaired and suffers from brain damage,” the South Korean dad named Kim said.
Kim also contacted 35 streamers and asked for reimbursement. Some streamers agreed to refund the cash but around US$40,000 will not be recovered anymore.
