Angel Locsin meets with Parlade
Angel Locsin met with Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade Jr. on Saturday to settle the red-tagging issue.
She was accompanied by Atty. Joji Alonso and her fiancé, film producer Neil Arce.
On social media, Atty. Joji posted the highlights of the said meeting.
In a meeting held today between AFP Southern Luzon Command Chief Lt. General Antonio Parlade, Jr. and actress Angel Locsin, the issues that cropped up these past weeks including the allegations against her and her sister Angela ‘Ella’ Colmenares, were discussed, threshed out and cleared
Miss Locsin expressly denounces violence and terrorism in any form and supports all efforts of the government to maintain the safety and protection of its citizens.
For his part, Lt. General Parlade conveyed to Ms. Locsin his appreciation for her contribution to the AFP and her continuing advocacy to help the poor, the impoverished and the helpless.
Parlade is the spokesperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), which was swirled with controversies due to the alleged red-tagging of some celebrities.
In a Facebook post on October 21, Parlade warned Kapamilya star Liza Soberano against joining the NPA.
The military general’s post also mentioned the name of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, who’s also active in advocating women’s rights.
In the last part of that post, Parlade directly linked Angel, her sister Ella Colmenares, and human rights lawyer Atty. Neri Colmenares to communist groups particularly NPA.
But they denied involvement in the said groups.
