The process was more or less identical for Android and iOS devices, with some minor changes in how every mobile operating system handled the icon change.

With its new update, the photo-sharing app added all of its classic icons within the app’s secret menu that lets users revert to some of its classic app icons.

Here’s a tutorial on how to change Instagram app icon on Android or iOS devices:

  1. First, you need to download the latest version of Instagram from the Google Play Store (for Android) or Apple App Store (for iOS).
  2. After downloading the latest update, you need to open Instagram and tap your “Profile” icon. Afterwards, tap the menu — located at the upper right corner — and access the “Settings”.
  3. Drag the entire menu section downwards until you started to see emojis. Then, wait until a confetti pops out and will then show you a new menu wherein you can access all of Instagram’s classic and alternative icons.
