Google Meet was set to start rolling out Q&A and Polls to meetings starting October 8, 2020
Google Meet was adding two new features — Q&A and polls — as video conferencing tools had become crucial to getting things done amid the pandemic.
This, as Google announced in a blog post that these new features were set to start rolling out on October 8, 2020 (US time).
Q&A in Meet
As explained by Google in a blog post, Q&A in Meet offered an easy way in order to better engage audiences and to help them get their questions answered – both in school and at work.
In school, educators can use this feature as a structured way for students to ask questions on class content and to get answers from teachers.
At work, businesses can use this feature in order to help make meetings “more inclusive” which gave everyone the opportunity to ask questions.
In addition, participants can submit and upvote their favorite questions even without interrupting the flow of the call.

Polls in Meet
With polls, hosts and moderators can ask a question to their attendees and get instant feedback from them, something Goggle pointed out could be especially useful to teachers using the said platform.
In a report on 9to5Google, Google Meet also recently rolled out its attendance polls for schools.
As per the report, hosts and moderators can end the poll once it had been completed and received a report of the poll’s results.
Moreover, those results can also be shared directly with the attendees from that pop-up, adding that an email would also be sent with poll data exported to Google Sheets.
These features will be rolling out to G Suite Essentials, G Suite Enterprise, G Suite Business, and G Suite Enterprise for Education customers starting October 8, 2020.
Meanwhile, Google previously announced in a blog post that Google Meet extended its unlimited Meet calls for free GMail users until March 31, 2021.
