Son of Caridad Sanchez released this statement
Alexander Joseph Babao, the son of showbiz veteran Caridad Sanchez, rebuked the claim of his sister Cathy Babao that their mother has dementia.
Caridad is one of the pillars of entertainment industry in the Philippines. For several decades, she has given superb acting that made the audience cry and laugh.
To recall, through her social media post, Cathy shared that her mother is “fading away”. She said that it breaks her heart to see this condition of the veteran actress but decided to share it with the public as she wanted to break the “stigma”.
“It is the most difficult challenge of my adult life, next to losing my son. Anticipatory grief. This is what this is all over again,” the grief counselor shared.
However, based on the article from ABS-CBN, Caridad’s son slammed the social media post of her daughter regarding her “condition”.
Alexander said that it is not true that their mother has dementia but “has a mild cognitive handicap that goes with aging.” He called the article of his sister as a violation of the “privacy, legacy and honor” of Caridad Sanchez.
The son of the 87-year-old showbiz personality also said that “she remains very physically fit, a source of wisdom, strength, and blessing” for him.
Alexander also thanked the people who have continued supporting, respecting, and loving his mother. On the other hand, he is wondering why his sister had to published an article claiming the “dementia” condition of the veteran actress.
“However I question the opportunistic timing of it’s publication by my sister,” the son of Caridad Sanchez said.
Alexander also shared this statement on his Instagram account and tagged the accounts of news outlets as several articles about his sister’s claim were published.
