DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 324,762

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 324,762, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 324,762 with over 2,200 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, October 5, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #205 dated October 5, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,291 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 1,992 out of 2,291 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 324,762.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Monday reported that 17 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 45,799 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #205 dated October 5, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 5 only: Metro Manila with 825 new cases, Batangas with 140 new cases, Laguna with 128 new cases, Rizal with 114 new cases, and Cavite with 102 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 87 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 273,123. Also, the Department of Health recorded 64 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 5,840.
