DOH Records 1,923 Newly-Reported COVID-19 Cases In PH

DOH had recorded 1,923 newly-reported COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 1,923 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of October 23, 2020.

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #223 dated October 23, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,923 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 1,745 out of 1,923 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 365,799.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Friday reported that 13 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 46,193 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #223 dated October 23, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 23 only: Davao City with 99 new cases, Cavite with 94 new cases, City of Manila with 94 new cases, Quezon City with 92 new cases, and Negros Occidental with 89 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 424 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 312,691. Also, the Department of Health recorded 132 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 6,915.
