DOH Logs 2,611 Newly-Reported COVID-19 Cases In PH

DOH had recorded 2,611 newly-reported COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 2,611 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of October 2, 2020.

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #202 dated October 2, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,611 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,150 out of 2,611 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 316,678.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Friday reported that seven operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 56,445 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #202 dated October 2, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 2 only: Metro Manila with 1,084 new cases, Cavite with 202 new cases, Iloilo with 182 new cases, Bulacan with 163 new cases, and Rizal with 132 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 416 newly-reported recoveries and 56 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 254,617 and coronavirus deaths to 5,616.
