DOH gives go-signal on recruitment of participants for Avigan clinical trial
The Department of Health (DOH) said at a press briefing that the agency gave the go-signal to recruit participants for the clinical trial of Japanese medicine Avigan.
This, as DOH said that the department was hopeful that the clinical trial for Avigan — a Japanese medicine that could treat coronavirus (COVID-19) patients — would begin soon.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said at a press briefing that the proponents of the clinical trial only had to settle some minor issues about the “insurance documents”.
“That’s the only thing (remaining), but we already gave the go-signal to the proponents. They are now going to start recruiting participants for the trial”, Vergeire said.
