CSC was eyeing for bi-annual online examinations
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) was considering to conduct its bi-annual examinations online as the commission wanted to go towards the new normal.
This, as Civil Service Commission Commissioner Aileen Lizada on Thursday said in an interview with DZMM Teleradyo that the commission was already discussing how CSC can conduct the civil service examinations online.
According to Lizada, they just had their commission meeting and they’re one in the commission in going towards the new normal — they wanted the examinations to be online.
Lizada also said that given the circumstances and the different protocols in place, it would be difficult for the commission to conduct the pen and paper test (PPT).

Lizada also said that over 200,000 people took the civil service examinations held twice a year.
It was last March when the commission chair said that CSC recorded the highest number of examinees at 290,000.
As the commission’s 120th anniversary theme was about digitization, Lizada said that they’re not under normal times, and therefore they must adopt.
Lizada also said that the commission would be discussing with its regional offices, the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and companies which could help the commission in its transition to digital examinations from October to December.
Moreover, Lizada said that the online examinations will “definitely” be imposed by next year. In terms of examination cost, Lizada said the commission would consider “what is favorable to the general public”.
