Araneta Bus Station Suspends Operation As Cemeteries Closed During Undas Season
The Araneta Center bus station stopped their operations as the government shuts all cemeteries nationwide during Undas.
On Friday (October 30, 2020), Araneta bus terminal has closed and suspends their operation to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease amid the Undas season. The operation suspension has been made amid the nationwide closure of all cemeteries.
The Philippine government has declared the week-long closure of cemeteries in the country from October 29 to November 4, 2020 as a part of the quarantine guidelines during the Undas season.
During the previous years, the bus station is usually filled with passengers in long queue to ride buses, which is different from the current situation. The terminal has no long lines and buses but security guards are roaming around the vicinity.
The security guards were left at the terminal to secure the area and implement the health protocols inside the vicinity. The security personnel has no idea regarding the resumption schedule of provincial buses.
Interior Secretary Eduardo Año has also reminded the public that mass gatherings are not allowed from October 29 to November 4. Cops would also ensure the cemeteries would obey the guidelines.
