Nadine Lustre took to Instagram wherein she divulged her reaction to the appointment of former National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Dante Gierran as the new chief of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
On Monday night, August 31, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana confirmed via text message that President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed the ex-NBI chief, replacing resigned PhilHealth president and CEO Ricardo Morales.
Ricardo Morales resigned due to his medical condition as he claimed he’s undergoing treatment for lymphoma or cancer of the lymph nodes.
His resignation came after the investigation of the alleged corruption within the state-run insurance firm.
Meanwhile, Dante Gierran’s appointment was swirled with comments as he admitted that he has no knowledge about the operations of PhilHealth.

Among those who reacted is Kapamilya star Nadine Lustre who posted a screenshot of a news article from ABS-CBN News with the facepalming meme of social media personality Dora Lulab on her IG stories.
According to PEP.ph, facepalming is an expression of frustration or shame for a person or situation.
It can be recalled that the newly appointed PhilHealth chief was interviewed by broadcast journalist Karen Davila via her program Headstart on ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC).
In the said interview, she questioned the latter’s appointment and read one of the requirements to be appointed as PhilHealth chief.
While being honest for having no knowledge about PhilHealth, he stressed in the latter part that he has a background on financial management- as he cited being a Certified Public Accountant and also about law, insurance, and investigation.

I dont understand why aperson who doesnt have any knowledge of how to run a big corporation be appointed to head it. There are guidelines onhow to go about it,like 7 years experience on health care and approval from the Board of Philhealth. Im sure Philhealth has itsownBY LAWS that we van adhere to lahat kasi dictado ng presidente, only in the pilipins.
