Gabbi Garcia had recently shared about her struggles as a “morena” as she tried to find her place in the showbiz industry.
As featured in BJ Pascual’s vlog, Gabbi admitted that she felt insecure when she started attending VTRs and go-sees due to the color of her skin.
According to her, it looked like she only had three commercials out of 30 plus or 40 plus VTRs.
Gabbi also said that she was insecure when she was a kid because the ones who were always taken were the ones with race – and that’s for sale at that time.
She also said that she’s just a cute kid and then she’ so “morena”.
In addition, Gabbi said that it seemed like it was always the final callback and then she didn’t get it because those who were of race and those who were “half-half” got it.
“So sobrang at first, I was so insecure na parang, ‘Bakit ganun? Wala bang spaces, wala bang spot for, like, Pinay beauty?’” Gabbi said.

Gabbi also admitted that a lot of people advised her to take whitening products when she’s still new in the business. According to her, she entered show business last 2014 when she’s a fourth-year high school student.
