OPM band Ben&Ben changed its official fandom name from “Lights” to “Liwanag”.
OPM Band Ben&Ben on Friday announced that the group changed its official fandom name from “Lights” to “Liwanag”.
This, after its former fandom name was also used by South Korean pop group HIGHLIGHT for their supporters and fans.
In a Twitter post, Ben&Ben introduced the official fandom name, “Liwanag“, and launched its official Twitter account @bb_liwanag.
According to the said tweet, the band had heard the suggestions of their fans and supporters and also the group wanted to honor the Filipino heritage.

Following the launch of Ben&Ben’s official fandom name, Liwanag posted a statement on its official Twitter account.
In its tweet, Liwanag shared that last Thursday was a “difficult day” for them. However, the fandom added, it was meant to bring them closer and make them understand what their purpose really was.
Moreover, Liwanag said that it was their “first big challenge” as a fandom as it was truly inspiring to see that their fans and supporters illuminated the fandom by being there for each other and for the OPM band as well.
