DOH Update: Total Coronavirus Cases In PH Already At 272,934

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 272,934, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 272,934 with over 3,500 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, September 16, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #186 dated September 16, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,550 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,984 out of 3,550 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 272,934.

Since Friday, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories.

However, the Department of Health on Wednesday reported that seven operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 60,344 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #186 dated September 16, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 16 only: Metro Manila with 1,459 new cases, Rizal with 271 new cases, Cavite with 196 new cases, Bulacan with 172 new cases, and Laguna with 172 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 524 newly-reported recoveries and 69 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 207,858 and total coronavirus deaths to 4,732.
