The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 3,475 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of September 21, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #191 dated September 21, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,475 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,648 out of 3,475 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.
This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 290,190.
Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Monday reported that nine operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 54,958 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #191 dated September 21, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 21 only: Metro Manila with 1,543 new cases, Batangas with 194 new cases, Rizal with 192 new cases, Cavite with 166 new cases, and Cebu with 165 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 400 newly-reported recoveries and 15 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 230,233 and coronavirus deaths to 4,999.
