This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #177 dated September 7, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,383 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 238,727.
In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Monday were reported based on the total tests done by 88 out of 115 current operational laboratories. The Department of Health also reported that 27 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS or the COVID-19 Data Repository System.
Moreover, 1,206 out of 1,383 newly-reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days — from August 25 to September 7.
The Department of Health also reported 49,931 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #177 dated September 7, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 7 only: Metro Manila with 525 new cases, Laguna with 137 new cases, Batangas with 99 new cases, Negros Occidental with 77 new cases, and Cavite with 69 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 230 newly-reported recoveries and 15 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 184,906 and total coronavirus deaths to 3,890.
