Coronavirus Update: DOH Logs 20,021 Newly-Reported Recoveries In PH

The DOH had recorded 20,021 newly-reported coronavirus recoveries as of 4:00 p.m. today.

The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 20,021 newly-reported coronavirus recoveries in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, September 20, 2020.

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #190 dated September 20, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,311 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,774 out of 3,311 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 286,743.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Sunday reported that seven operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 51,894 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #190 dated September 20, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 20 only: Metro Manila with 1,435 new cases, Negros Occidental with 261 new cases, Laguna with 231 new cases, Rizal with 204 new cases, and Cavite with 174 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 20,021 newly-reported recoveries wherein 625 were recorded from its routine reports and 19,396 were recorded as time-based recoveries. This brought the total number of recoveries to 229,865.

Also, the Department of Health recorded 55 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 4,984.
