Malacañang said that cemeteries will be closed to visitors from October 29 to November 4.
Malacañang on Friday said that all private and public cemeteries, columbariums, memorial parks will be closed from October 29, 2020, to November 4, 2020.
The Philippines was still on a battle against the pandemic as the Department of Health recorded a total of 276,289 cases of coronavirus in the country as of this writing.
Out of the said total, the health department reported that the death toll was at 4,785 while 208,096 patients have already recovered.
Among the health protocols in the fight against the coronavirus disease were wearing face masks, washing hands regularly, and practicing social distancing.
In an online briefing, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that all private and public cemeteries, columbariums, and memorial parks will be closed to visitors starting October 29, 2020, until November 4, 2020.
Roque also said that cemeteries will be open to the public but only with a limited capacity of 30% from September 17 to November 15 – except from October 29 to November 4.
Moreover, Roque said that the elderly and children would be allowed to visit cemeteries during the said dates. Roque also reminded those who wanted to visit cemeteries that they should wear face shields and face masks.
