PACC: 13 PhilHealth Execs To Face Criminal Charges

13 PhilHealth officials will face criminal charges, according to PACC.

The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) said that it has “airtight” cases against 13 PhilHealth officials that were linked to fraud.

Also, the PACC might file criminal complaints against these officials before the Office of the Ombudsman next week.

Presidential Anti-Corruption Commissioner Greco Belgica on Thursday said that the remaining officials may face administrative charges against them.

In addition, Belgica also said that the PACC had submitted its “partial probe report” to the Office of the President and was organizing an investigation team for every region as it is “where the money flows,” he added.

Belgica told ANC that someone has a “territory” just because the system allowed fraudulent claims to exist in every region, adding that the bulk of the transactions of PhilHealth happened in the regional level.

Moreover, Belgica said that PhilHealth’s national office also whitewashed complaints that were filed against its regional officials.

On Tuesday, a Senate hearing revealed that PhilHealth President and CEO Ricardo Morales approved the questionable information technology budget of the agency and promoted officials that were already charged for their alleged corrupt practices.
