Member of paralegal team claiming Echanis’ body was arrested in Quezon City.
A member of a paralegal team claiming Anakpawis party-list chairperson Randall “Randy” Echanis’ body was arrested Tuesday in Quezon City.
This, as Ariel Casilao – a former Anakpawis congressman and now vice chairman of the party-list – confirmed that Paolo Colabres was arrested by police in Quezon City at about 2:00 a.m. Tuesday.
As reported on INQUIRER.net, Colabres was part of a quick reaction team that consists of different militant groups in order to process the release of Echanis’ body.
In a phone call with INQUIRER.net, Casilao said that they “illegally arrested” him and charged Colabres of the so-called obstruction of justice. He also said that Colabres was brought by the police to the headquarters of Quezon City Police District at Camp Karingal.

Colabres’ arrest came after Randall “Randy” Echanis and his neighbor were killed early Monday morning inside his rented house in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Randall “Randy” Echanis was a peace consultant of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) and a chairperson of Anakpawis party-list.
