COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already at 106,330, according to DOH
The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported that the coronavirus cases in the Philippines were already at 106,330 with 3,226 newly-recorded cases.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of today, August 3, 2020.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #142 dated August 3, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,226 new COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 106,330.
In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Monday were reported based on the total tests done by 66 out of 94 current operational laboratories. Since July 27, the DOH didn’t report the fresh and late cases in its case bulletin.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health reported 275 new recoveries and 46 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 65,821 and total coronavirus deaths to 2,104.
In addition, the Department of Health reported 38,405 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #142 dated August 3, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of August 3 only: Metro Manila with 1,541 new cases, Cebu with 503 new cases, Laguna with 181 new cases, Rizal with 158 new cases, and Cavite with 129 new cases.
